What do you do?

I'm the US Editor of D_Code, which involves a range of endeavors, from overseeing a portion of the Global Streetscape Network, to large-scale synthesis and analysis of Streetscape artifacts, to tracking trends, to actually writing, editing, presenting and selling the D_Code package.

How did you get here?

How did I get here? Through a lot of hustlin' and a lot of serendipity! Back in Philly, my hometown, I worked for a small urban marketing consultancy where I made a lot of great contacts in the advertising industry, one of which enlightened me about HCHLV.  Prior to joining, I did marketing, ad sales and some freelance writing for an NYC-based urban lifestyle magazine called YRB, while teaching inner city kids on the side in subjects such as entrepreneurship and life skills.

Why do you do it?

Brilliant minds are like junk food to me - I really can't get enough!  I am on a never-ending mission to up my own ante, to assimilate all of the knowledge, insights and strategic ideas of those around me. The inevitability that there are fresh-to-death fads, styles, ideas and breakthroughs being born every single day drives my motivation to discover, and inspires my creative energy.

What do you do away from work?

Live music brings me the greatest natural high, and lucky for me I live directly across the street from the legendary NYC concert venue, Webster Hall. The rest of my free time is spent traveling, taking photos of anything and everything, writing rhymes, reading 'zines, sewing clothes and perusing MySpace and Second Life.
